August 7, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

published: 2011-08-06 16:46:16 Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is having a good week. On Thursday, the return of Jersey Shore put up record numbers, and now he’s just landed a new endorsement deal worth six figures. The agreement is with an upstart tanning salon, and beyond the base compensation, Sorrentino’s company MPS Entertainment will also acquire a stake in the business. If that’s not a pretty damn good situation, I don’t know what is. According to TMZ, the place is called Boca Tanning Club, and the former Dancing With The Stars contestant is already planning to expand. He’s preparing to open at least…

August 5, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

by Danae Young   This week on an all new season of Jersey Shore , the guidos and guidettes are back! But this time, they’re taking over Italy!   Everyone had to go get their passport photos taken. That is sort of important if you are going out of the country.    Jionni and Snooki have been dating for six months now and JWOWW is still with Roger. Did I mention JWOWW is looking way too skinny?!    As of now Sammi and Ronnie are just “friends,” but we’ll see how long that lasts.    The boys…

July 27, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

by Gina Scarpa, Allison L. Nowacki and Bryan J. Polk   This week, on Food Network Star , early favorite Jyll Everman was eliminated from the competition, after the judges questioned her ability to be sincere in front of the camera. She also struggled with her concept, switching from delicious “bites” to another about entertaining. Yet, despite that, her food often spoke for itself and she had a confidence that couldn’t be denied. Today, we spoke to her in an exclusive interview about her time on Food Network Star.   Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Both you and Orchid started out the…

The celebrity repairs the season 5: Plot 5 iteration main points

July 26, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

by Mike Bandy   Celebrity Rehab began with Steven deciding to stay in rehab, stating that he wasn’t going to let anybody else ruin his progress. Dr. Drew, Shelly, and another psychiatrist met with Steven and informed him that attacking Amy could no longer happen, and Steven apologized and agreed. The next morning, at process group, Steven started off the conversation by apologizing publicly to Amy for the way he acted, which she accepted. I thought that was really cool of him to do, and hopefully, we’ll see the two of them become allies in rehab together.   The…

The amy Winehouse autopsy does not have the cause of death

July 26, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

published: 2011-07-25 18:14:29 The autopsy on deceased pop singer Amy Winehouse was completed today without the coroner finding a specific cause of death. That’s not exactly a rarity in cases where overdoses are suspected, but the lack of findings still leaves family, friends and her fans in limbo wondering what exactly happened to the troubled musician. As her death was a high profile case, the coroner released a statement detailing the lack of findings and said a toxicology report should be back within the next two-to-four weeks. Those results should give doctors a clear enough picture of what substances were…

Weekend box office: The first avenger gets the advantage

July 25, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

2011-07-24 18:34:14 Author: Scott Gwin Hero power topped Harry Potter this weekend. Captain America: The First Avenger made a solid debut at number one with $65 million. While that’s a respectable opening, it’s nothing to get excited about. According to rankings at Box Office Mojo it’s only the 48th largest opening for a comic book adapted film. Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows, Part 2 slipped a hefty 70% from its record breaking opening weekend (most movies drop 50% – 60%). That sort of rapid drop off is a common trend for Potter flicks, but no other entry in the franchise has ever come this…

Challenge: Rival – plot 5 iteration main points

July 22, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

by Gina Scarpa   There’s drinking, dancing, skinny dipping, and the usual mayhem in the house this week on The Challenge: Rivals . Adam is clearly smitten with Jenn and wrestles with whether or not he should tell her how he feels. He shouldn’t. While he professes his love in one room, she rips him apart in another. I mean, even if she doesn’t like him, they ARE friends. Who talks about their friends like that?   Jonna and Jasmine sit down to talk about… well, actually, I don’t know what they were talking about because the next thing I…

Laid mines in the wooden cooper and Olivia Wilde obtained comfortably in the hangover 2 after party period

June 5, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

published: 2011-06-03 12:19:30 Us Weekly reports that Bradley Cooper and Olivia Wilde are “definitely hooking up” after the stars got “cozy” during the after-party for Cooper’s new film, The Hangover 2 . They went on to say that Wilde had issues sharing Cooper with other females at the party, and all of the usual things one says when it looks like two people are together. Of course, Us Weekly is a tabloid and this story reads just like another bit of unsubstantiated rumor. Olivia Wilde tweeted about the rumors, writing, “I think Us Weekly has the same sources who promised us WMDs in…

2011-05-27 22:27:29 Author: Eric Eisenberg Articles about dueling projects with similar stories are a common thing here on Cinema Blend. Whether it’s the on-going battle between Relativity Media and Universal for the bigger Snow White project; the already released No Strings Attached vs. the upcoming Friends With Benefits ; or the multiple Peter Pan movies in development, studios are always looking for the next big thing and sometimes they stumble upon that thing at the exact same time. This newest one is easily the strangest in the bunch. THR reports that two biopics about Baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi are currently in the…
