2011-08-02 19:55:52 Author: Sean O’Connell Laurence Fishburne is the latest major name added to Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot, Man of Steel . EW reports that the Oscar nominated actor has been cast as Perry White, editor-in-chief at Metropolis’ top newspaper, The Daily Planet. Fishburne’s best known for playing Morpheus in three Matrix films, also for Warner Bros., which is backing Snyder’s project. He takes over a role that previously has been played by Jackie Cooper (in the Christopher Reeve Superman movies) and Frank Langella (in Bryan Singer’s oft-maligned update). The actor recently walked away from CBS’ hit crime drama CSI…
The amy Winehouse autopsy does not have the cause of death
July 26, 2011 by Lyndria Miller · Leave a Comment
published: 2011-07-25 18:14:29 The autopsy on deceased pop singer Amy Winehouse was completed today without the coroner finding a specific cause of death. That’s not exactly a rarity in cases where overdoses are suspected, but the lack of findings still leaves family, friends and her fans in limbo wondering what exactly happened to the troubled musician. As her death was a high profile case, the coroner released a statement detailing the lack of findings and said a toxicology report should be back within the next two-to-four weeks. Those results should give doctors a clear enough picture of what substances were…

published: 2011-07-25 19:37:46 The gorgeous Leslie Feist is an intricate part of the ensemble orchestral post-rock group Broken Social Scene. Among the indie scene, this supergroup has a large tie among most of the more prevalent independent groups. The twenty plus members of the band are included in numerous other projects, all of which are stand alone endeavors that make sense towards the unique sound that Broken Social Scene has. Because each member of the group adds their own individual sounds from their own projects, the group’s ever expanding lush scoundscapes are as epic as ever. Feists singular voice amongst the…
Strange cooperation: The flaming lip and Weezer will play two demonstrations together
July 24, 2011 by Wyatt Sebastian · Leave a Comment
published: 2011-07-22 17:58:02 Do you know if there’s anything in common with bands The Flaming Lips or Weezer? Nope, me neither, but the only thing I can think of is that they are both playing a show together. Ok, so whats weird about that? Lots of bands from completely different genres play together, or open, like MGMT did for Paul McCartney. Well thats not the case with this. As RTT News announces, the two groups with complete opposite styles of music will be joining forces and sharing the stage on July 28 at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey and…
Bright eye announcement east coast tour date

published: 2011-07-21 18:57:31 There’s an appeal to Bright Eyes I just dont get. I understand that Conor Oberst, the lead singer, is a talented musician and an interesting songwriter, but he never caught my attention. Maybe he draws in the people who rely on his music for emotional stability? Or maybe his audience needs him to take them on an emotional journey. I dated a girl in high school who was obsessed with Oberst and gang. I can only assume all his fans have the same delusional response to his overly melodramatic tunes. Nonetheless, the group has a lot of supporters…
Motorhead guitar playing Wurzel dies in 61

published: 2011-07-11 21:43:35 Heavy Metal fans are known for being aggressive and fairly angry people. If you havent been to a metal concert let me explain what happens. When the music starts to sprawl out of their speakers, a loud euphoric sense of metal rage starts to engulf the participants in this bastion of ritual mawshing and screaming. Trust me when I say they live up to their reputation, but when one of their own passes away, all past assumptions are thrown out the window. On July 9th, the guitarist from Motörhead died of ventricular fibrillation caused by heart disease. The single…

The platinum has hit: The exclusive interview spends Rapp with the honeybee
June 29, 2011 by David Nickersons · Leave a Comment
by Gina Scarpa Whether Melissa Rapp contributed lyrics on this week’s episode of Platinum Hit was almost besides the point. After losing this week’s challenge with Jes, the two stood in front of the panel, and got ripped apart – but Melissa wasn’t having it. She fired back at Kara Dioguardi, telling her to check her attitude. Melissa was eliminated from the competition and today, we spoke to her in an exclusive interview about her time on Platinum Hit. Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What was your songwriting and performance experience prior to Platinum Hit? A. Melissa: Well, I really…
Rocco supper meeting: Plot 2 iteration main points
June 23, 2011 by Mark Mahoney · Leave a Comment
by Gina Scarpa Last night on Rocco’s Dinner Party , Rocco DiSpirito invited three chefs (Joel, Michelle, and King) to compete to cook for his guests. They come from all different experiences and cooking backgrounds. King owns two restaurants, Michelle is a private chef, and Joel is a high school teacher. For their signature dishes, Joel makes a seared duck breast, Michelle goes with crawfish, and King prepares noodles and scallops… or, just noodles. He runs out of time and doesn’t even get to put his scallops on the plate. Rocco was not too thrilled with the…
