Laughable fraud in 2011: In Star Trek Damon Lindelof renewal: Second

2011-07-21 20:56:49 Author: Eric Eisenberg It needs to be said: the sequel to the J.J. Abrams-directed Star Trek can’t get here soon enough. Ever since the film dropped in 2009 old fans and new fans alike have been clamoring for the creative team to get back together and get to work. Thanks to other projects, however, such as Super 8 and Cowboys & Aliens , the power team of Abrams, Damon Lindelof, Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci hasn’t been able to settle down and work on it. Finally that time has arrived. As I teased earlier today, I just got back from a…

2011-07-04 21:06:23 Author: Scott Gwin Movies? On the fourth of July? When there are burgers to be grilled, ice cold beverages to be enjoyed, and fireworks to be set off and watched? The fact that the holiday falls on a Monday helped boost sales a bit on this Independence Day, but overall sales were still only slightly bumped up from usual summer weekday numbers. While Transformers: Dark of The Moon broke the record for biggest Independence Day opening, overall numbers for the holiday weekend were sluggish compared to recent past. Compare last year’s four-day Independence Day weekend totals where the top…

The unbelievable new super 8 playbill provide the first look in the alien, a little

2011-05-18 21:24:39 Author: Josh Tyler An amazing new poster for Super 8 had debuted online and, in addition to being beautiful, it’s also the closest we’ve gotten to seeing whatever it is in this movie that’s terrorizing the small town. The poster, evoking memories of Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind shows two kids standing in the street holding hands, while groups of alien looking lights float in the sky above the street lamps. Those lights are the most we’ve seen of the movie’s monsters, hidden so well in the trailers. It’s a Japanese poster, which doesn’t makes sense, because artwork this…

First super 8 clip feeling more Spielberg

2011-05-16 16:50:04 Author: Josh Tyler The first clip from Super 8 has arrived, sort of. I say sort of because it’s not so much a complete clip as a bunch of portions of a scene edited together to squeeze it all in 30 seconds. I’m not sure this actually does them any favors, but it does at least give you some feel for the tone of director JJ Abrams upcoming film. With or without this clip, it’s still 2011′s best bet to be this year’s Inception . Watch the first clip from Super 8 embedded below. Super 8 arrives in theaters June 10th. It takes place in…

2011-04-26 22:17:55 Author: Eric Eisenberg In 2009, J.J. Abrams breathed life into a slowly dying franchise when he made Star Trek . Raking in more than $250 million at the domestic box office, the film nearly sextupled the gross of the previous entry, 2002′s Star Trek: Nemesis , which made only $43 million, the lowest in the series’ history. Abrams had the world in his hand, everyone begging for more and then… nothing. Abrams decided to distance himself from Star Trek and make Super 8 – due out this summer – and writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman started writing and producing various films and television shows…

Transformers: The darkness of the image of moon gives to us another view on the shock wave

April 25, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

2011-04-25 16:41:13 Author: Eric Eisenberg As announced last week, the first theatrical trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon will be released this week. To celebrate the run-up to the extended spot, Paramount has teamed up with Apple to deliver one new Transformers still a day. Today we get still number one. Delivering our second look at the character, the image provided is another shot of Shockwave, a Decepticon making his debut in the series’ second sequel. While the picture does show off the bad guy’s single eyeball, the character’s other most distinctive feature is sadly cut off: the giant laser…

2011-04-22 17:35:01 Author: Eric Eisenberg At this stage in the game I’m fairly confident that the mystery surrounding Super 8 isn’t going to be solved in the marketing. The movie is set to be released in early June and while the broad assumption is that there’s an alien involved, nothing has been confirmed, simply “unusual disappearances and inexplicable events,” as described in the official synopsis. What we do know is that the title comes from the camera that the lead character, played by Joel Courtney, uses to make movies with his friends and that there is a scene with a giant train…

Kim Kardashian Gearing up for Skechers Superbowl Ad

January 13, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

Kim Kardashian doesn’t have a boyfriend playing in this year’s Super Bowl, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t going to get some pricy screen time! The long-lashed entrepreneur is a spokesmodel for Skechers ShapeUps, among many other things, which means she’ll be starring in a television advertisement to air during the year’s most beloved American sporting event on February 6. On her blog, Kim explained, “I don’t want to give too much away, but the storyline of the ad is so fun and I think you guys are going to love the commercial. I have to break someone’s heart in…
